Job Title: SAP Hana Data Migration Consultant
Location: Ottawa, Ontario / Remote
Job Type: Contract, full-time, 6 months with potential for extension
Hours: 40 hours a week.
About the Opportunity
Our public sector client is entering a critical stage of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation. As part of a brownfield migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, they are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Analyst to help shape the data readiness strategy during the early planning and pre-work phases of the program.
In this role, you will work closely with technical leaders, business stakeholders, data governance teams, and future implementation partners to establish the foundation for a successful migration. Your work will directly influence data quality, risk mitigation, conversion readiness, and business continuity across a highly visible enterprise initiative.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll develop the overall data migration strategy for a brownfield SAP ECC to S/4HANA conversion, including scope, retention, archiving, and conversion principles.
- In this role, you’ll establish governance frameworks, quality gates, defect triage models, and sign-off procedures with business and technical stakeholders.
- You’ll lead data profiling and readiness assessments across ECC environments to identify data quality issues, duplicates, obsolete records, and remediation priorities.
- You’ll coordinate with functional teams to confirm data ownership, validation accountability, and dependencies across architecture, integration, CVI, and custom code remediation workstreams.
- You’ll support the development of migration deliverables including runbooks, reconciliation packs, validation scripts, and go-live readiness reporting.
Skills and Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive SAP experience, including ECC to S/4HANA conversion programs
- Demonstrated leadership of data migration workstreams within brownfield SAP transformation environments
- Strong knowledge of SAP data models, master data and transactional data across FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, WM, and HCM
- Experience with SAP Activate methodology, simplification items, custom Z data conversion, and data governance principles
- Strong stakeholder facilitation, workshop leadership, planning, and business communication skills
