About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing privately held organization, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join their corporate finance team. Working closely with senior financial leaders, you will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and special projects that directly influence strategic decision-making.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • You’ll lead account reconciliations and perform detailed analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow forecasts.
  • You’ll review variances against budget and prior periods, identifying trends and presenting actionable insights to leadership.
  • You’ll support the budgeting and forecasting process, maintaining projection models and updating forecasts.
  • You’ll assist with external audits and financial institution reporting, ensuring timely resolution of audit activities.
  • You’ll enhance internal controls and support compliance with GAAP, including exposure to US GAAP standards.
  • You’ll mentor and support junior accounting staff, contributing to team development.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience, including financial reporting and analysis.
  • University degree in Business or Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, US GAAP experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, exposure to Microsoft NAV is an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
