Job Description

Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Fully On-site)
Language: Professional English required, both written and spoken
Background Check Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain Canadian Security Clearance.
Contract: 6 months with potential for extension.
Pay Range: $30-$40/hour based on experience.

Our client in the defense and engineering sector is seeking a highly organized and trusted Office Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at their Ottawa facility. This role is central to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-run workplace, supporting a team focused on delivering mission-critical projects.

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless office operations while handling sensitive information with discretion. Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage daily office operations, including supplies, records, and confidential documentation to ensure smooth workflow
  • You’ll coordinate meetings, schedules, visitors, and internal communications across teams
  • You’ll support HR and Finance functions, including onboarding, timesheets, and invoicing processes
  • You’ll oversee office and light industrial facilities, coordinating vendors, maintenance, and service providers
  • You’ll act as the primary point of contact for access control, managing badges, keys, visitor logs, and secure areas
  • You’ll support project teams with documentation, reporting, and follow-ups to keep initiatives on track

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in office management, administrative coordination, or a similar role
  • Experience working in a regulated, engineering, manufacturing, or defence environment is an asset
  • Familiarity with facilities coordination, office security processes, and health and safety practices
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to work independently
