Location: Ottawa, ON. Hybrid, 2 days/week in office

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization within the public sector, is seeking two Business Analysts to join their Technology and Data team. This is an opportunity to contribute to impactful, large-scale data and technology initiatives that support critical operations and services.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across data, applications, and infrastructure, helping translate complex business needs into actionable technical solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology while contributing to meaningful transformation projects.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll gather, document, and refine business requirements using user stories, BRDs, and other formats
- You’ll translate business needs into technical specifications, data models, and analytical outputs
- You’ll analyze current processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization
- You’ll support testing efforts including test data creation, UAT coordination, and validation activities
- You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, facilitate discussions, and present findings
- You’ll contribute to data quality initiatives including reconciliation, transformation validation, and documentation
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in technology or data-focused environments
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools
- Proficiency using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio for data analysis
- Strong understanding of SQL and PowerShell scripting
- Experience with enterprise data platforms, Databricks, or large-scale data migrations is an asset
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills
