About the Opportunity
Our client in the healthcare sector is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support a multi-site health care environment. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where your work will directly contribute to the safety and well-being of staff.

Working closely with leadership, you’ll play a key role in strengthening safety practices ahead of an upcoming accreditation. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise into a collaborative environment where your insights will help shape safer workplaces and improve day-to-day operations.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll conduct mask fit testing for staff and support ongoing compliance initiatives
• You’ll lead training sessions on proper body mechanics, including lifting techniques for clinical teams
• You’ll perform ergonomic assessments and provide practical recommendations
• You’ll develop and implement safety plans, addressing employee concerns and workplace risks
• You’ll support workplace violence prevention initiatives aligned with Ontario legislation
• You’ll assist with Ministry of Labour injury investigations and reporting

Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of health and safety experience, preferably within healthcare or similar environments
• Strong understanding of Ontario health and safety legislation, including workplace violence standards
• Experience delivering training sessions and engaging diverse teams
• Knowledge of ergonomic assessments and injury prevention practices
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to safety concerns proactively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• H&S educational background
