About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing organization in the financial services space, is seeking a Manager, Legal and Recoveries to join their team. This role is focused on legal recoveries within an auto finance environment, supporting complex files including lien disputes, dealer-related matters, and insurance-related claims. You will play a key role in driving recovery outcomes on charged-off accounts while supporting broader business needs.

This is a hands-on, operational role where you will work closely with a small, specialized team and external partners. You will be involved in managing complex legal files, guiding decisions around litigation and settlement, and supporting business-critical challenges as they arise. This role offers a strong balance of legal exposure, operational ownership, and leadership.

What’s In It for You

  • A hands-on leadership role with direct impact on business outcomes
  • Exposure to complex legal recoveries, litigation strategy, and dispute resolution
  • A collaborative workplace that values initiative, problem-solving, and accountability
  • A culture that supports work-life balance with a hybrid model and generous time off

Your Responsibilities

  • You will support and guide a small team of legal recovery professionals while remaining hands-on with files
  • You will oversee litigation strategy and recovery processes for charged-off accounts, including complex disputes
  • You will manage and resolve issues related to lien disputes, dealer matters, and insurance claims
  • You will assess and determine appropriate legal actions, settlements, and enforcement strategies
  • You will collaborate with external counsel and internal stakeholders to drive effective outcomes
  • You will identify opportunities to improve workflows, team structure, and recovery processes

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in legal recoveries, collections litigation, or secured lending environments
  • Experience within auto finance or asset-based lending is strongly preferred
  • Licensed Paralegal or equivalent hands-on experience in legal recoveries
  • Strong understanding of litigation, enforcement, and dispute resolution processes
  • Experience handling complex, high-value or escalated files
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Note from the Hiring Manager

“We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and comfortable stepping into complex situations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting a team, and making a real impact on the business.”
