Job Description

Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Fully on site in Downtown Ottawa, Weekend availability required)
Language: Strong written and spoken English required
Background Check Requirement: A Criminal Background check will be required.
Salary Range:  $65,000 - $70,000 (Based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week.

Our client in the hospitality sector is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join their team as a Group Sales & Event Manager. In this role, you will be at the center of delivering seamless group experiences, acting as the bridge between client expectations and operational excellence.

You will collaborate closely with internal teams across operations, catering, and revenue management while building strong relationships with external clients. Your work will directly shape memorable experiences and contribute to long-term client loyalty and business growth.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage end-to-end planning and execution of group meetings and events, ensuring every detail is delivered seamlessly
  • In this role, you’ll act as the primary point of contact for clients, from contract signing through to final billing
  • You’ll collaborate with operations and revenue teams to optimize profitability and client satisfaction
  • You’ll oversee on-site event execution, troubleshooting issues and ensuring alignment with event plans
  • You’ll lead pre- and post-event meetings to gather feedback and build long-term client relationships
  • You’ll contribute to proactive sales efforts, identifying opportunities to grow group and corporate business

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in hotel sales, catering, or event management
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Experience using property management systems such as Opera is an asset
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable, with availability for evenings or weekends as needed
  • A client-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences
