COMMISSION & PAYROLL ANALYST
Location: Thornhill, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, Tuesday–Thursday)

Compensation: $75,000- $90,000 Annually

Our client, a well-established organization within the financial services sector, is seeking a Commission and Payroll Analyst to support a critical backfill within their Finance team.
This role is heavily focused on sales commission calculations, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales leadership and Finance to ensure accurate commission payouts and provide clear explanations of commission structures and results.
This is a standalone role requiring confidence, ownership, and strong communication skills, particularly when supporting Sales teams and senior stakeholders who rely on timely and accurate commission reporting.

Calculate and validate monthly and quarterly sales commissions for internal Sales Associates and external agents
Maintain and enhance Excel-based commission models used for calculations, reporting, and analysis
Reconcile commission calculations against supporting schedules and investigate discrepancies
Act as a key point of contact for Sales leadership and Finance partners regarding commission inquiries and reporting
Review payroll outputs to ensure accuracy of commission payments and related deductions
Perform payroll and commission reconciliations, including support for month-end and year-end activities
Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries, including commissions, wages, benefits, and statutory deductions
Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger and investigate and resolve variances
Prepare and analyze statutory remittances and related accounts (EHT, WSIB, etc.)
Maintain detailed documentation and reconciliation schedules for internal review and audit
Identify process improvements and communicate findings clearly and professionally
3–5+ years of experience in commissions analysis, payroll accounting, or a similar finance role
Strong experience working with sales commission structures
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas
Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and payroll-related accounting
Strong understanding of full-cycle payroll and its financial reporting impact
Confident communicator comfortable working directly with Sales teams and senior stakeholders
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
CPA or CPA-in-progress preferred; PCP considered an asset
