Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid, approximately 12 days onsite per month)
Language: Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
Duration: Contract, 6 to 12 months
Background Check Requirement: Ability to obtain Secret-level security clearance, candidates must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Data Analyst / Developer to support enterprise analytics and AI-driven reporting within a large, highly regulated public-sector environment. You’ll be joining a collaborative technology group focused on delivering trusted insights, modern data platforms, and responsible AI solutions that directly support organizational decision-making.

In this role, you’ll work closely with technical leaders, analysts, and business partners to design scalable data solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and the Power Platform. Your work will have a meaningful impact by improving data accessibility, strengthening governance, and enabling smarter, faster insights across the organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll design and deliver high-quality Power BI solutions, including semantic models, DAX, report design, and performance optimization.

  • In this role, you’ll build and support analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Pipelines, Notebooks, and SQL Analytics.

  • You’ll develop secure data integrations using APIs, OAuth2 authentication, and on-premises data gateways where required.

  • You’ll design and implement Copilot Studio agents that support data-driven questions and workflow automation using the Power Platform.

  • You’ll apply responsible AI and data governance practices, including RBAC, DLP policies, and model evaluation.

  • You’ll provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues, supporting skill development and knowledge transfer.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of advanced experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and performance tuning.

  • 5+ years of experience working with APIs for analytics, including authentication and data refresh strategies.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric fundamentals.

  • 2+ years of experience designing Copilot Studio agents and Power Platform integrations.

  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and stakeholder engagement.
