Job Description
Our Federal Government client is seeking a Telecommunications Analyst to join their team on a 4-month contract.
This contract is full time on site in Ottawa.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides networking services. This may include Providing installation and configuration of network infrastructure (e.g. points-of-presence, routers, switches) across Canada;.
- Provide network engineering services. This may include configuring, assisting, or advising tasks related to network operations and security, including administration of Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs). Responsibilities include managing multicasting, virtual LANs (VLANs), TACACS (Terminal Access Controller Access-Control System), access control lists, IP subnetting, OSPF and BGP routing protocols, GRE tunnels, and configuring or reconfiguring routing protocols. Additional duties involve preventive maintenance such as router optimization, support for Cisco VoIP phones,
- Provides documentation and network diagrams. This may include the creation of network technical documentation, network diagrams, and physical equipment diagrams (Rack diagrams).
Qualifications and Skills
- 3 years’ experience within the last 5 years conducting network engineering or senior network management.
- Ability to clearly and accurately articulate detailed network configuration information across a broad range of networking technologies, including:
- OSPF and BGP routing protocols
- Subnetting and IP addressing
- Network protocols and well-known ports
- VLANs
- Tunneling and overlay technologies (e.g., GRE, DMVPN)
- Access Control Lists (ACLs)
- Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
