Job Description
Our valued Federal Government client is currently seeking a Bilingual Help Desk Specialist to provide onsite support within the Windows environment, including Microsoft Suite and M365 to the Department. The successful candidate will provide support and access to specific applications and systems within the Department, as well as liaise with and submit trouble tickets to Departmental service desk(s) on incidents / service requests that fall outside of the Departments scope.
This is a one year contract expected to start mid-November. Work is expected to be completed onsite in Ottawa, Ontario.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor and prioritize emails sent to the service desk mailbox and respond to clients accordingly
- Answer phone calls to the service desk phone
- Troubleshoot incidents within department scope both onsite and remotely
- Provide IT support services to conference rooms, desktop equipment, and peripherals
- Provide support on hardware and software issues
- Escalate issues to appropriate 2nd level support group as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Must clearly demonstrate minimum 2 years’ experience within the past 5 years providing support in a Windows enterprise environment (including MS Suite/M365).
- Must clearly demonstrate minimum 2 years’ experience within the past 5 years providing hardware and software support.
- Valid reliability security clearance
- Bilingual (English/French)
Education
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in computer science or other relevant field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
