Job Description
Our public sector client is looking for an Application Support Specialist to join our team and support the delivery of critical government services. You’ll play a key role in hosting and maintaining over 200+ Java applications. If you thrive in fast-paced operational settings, have deep middleware and cloud expertise, and can balance technical problem-solving with stakeholder collaboration, this could be the role for you.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support including incident triage, service request fulfillment, and change management.
- Administer and support IBM WebSphere (NDM/Liberty), DataPower, and related middleware tools.
- Drive deployment automation using Urban Code Deploy and Urban Code Velocity.
- Manage and support containerized applications in OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Monitor application and system health using tools like ITCAM and Dynatrace.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery and effective communication.
- Generate operational reports and perform trend analysis to improve performance and processes.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Middleware expertise: IBM WebSphere Application Server (NDM/Liberty), IBM DataPower.
- Deployment automation: Urban Code Deploy and Urban Code Velocity.
- Monitoring tools: ITCAM, Dynatrace (or similar).
- Cloud technologies: OpenShift, Kubernetes, Ansible.
- ITIL practices: Incident and Change Management.
- 2+ years’ experience with middleware or systems administration (Solaris, RHEL).
