Job Description

The Accountant plays a vital role in supporting our clients through accurate financial reporting, bookkeeping, and effective collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders. This hybrid role requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards. Your ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential financial data with integrity is essential to this role.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. This is a hybrid position based in Calgary, AB, requiring a combination of remote work and in-office presence.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

  • Review and process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve billing and payment inquiries

  • Assist with preparing financial reports and summaries for management

  • Maintain and organize confidential financial information

  • Provide audit support and respond to financial documentation requests

  • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting, finance, or bookkeeping role

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel and Outlook

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar)

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Clear, responsive, and professional communication style

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment

  • Comfortable handling sensitive financial and business information with discretion
