B.1 Business Analyst 3
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst, or a senior business analyst to support the implementation of multiple application development projects. This role will involve working closely with business users and development teams to streamline operations, reduce manual processes, and deliver efficient, scalable solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with business users to identify, validate, and refine business needs and requirements, defining the scope of systems to support design and implementation.
Assess solution options based on business priorities and existing technology infrastructure; provide recommendations to guide decision-making.
Develop detailed system requirements using User Story format and User Interface mockups that address business needs and solve identified problems.
Contribute to solution architecture design by working closely with technical teams and subject matter experts, producing mockups and documentation.
Support iterative development cycles by clarifying requirements, capturing changes, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Design and document test scenarios and test cases for system validation; support testing activities to confirm deliverables meet requirements.
Produce key project deliverables such as solution scope definitions, options analyses, requirements specifications, interface mockups, and test case documentation.
Participate in usability testing and user acceptance testing, providing test execution reports and updated requirements for subsequent project phases when required.

Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 10 years of experience within the last 15 years working as a Business Analyst.
At least 5 years of Business Analyst experience must be within a Government of Canada department, agency, or crown corporation.
Experience as a Senior Business Analyst on at least two projects within the last 5 years delivering financial systems for a Government of Canada department, agency, or crown corporation.
Must have worked on each project for a minimum of 6 months.
Over 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst on large-scale IT projects for Government of Canada departments, agencies, or crown corporations.
Large-scale is defined as an enterprise business transformation or modernization project valued at over $15 million with both internal and external stakeholders.
