Job Description

We are seeking a QA Lead on behalf of our Public Sector client for a 6 month contract. The successful the candidate ensure quality oversight for IT infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, and enterprise technology projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality management frameworks
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate quality-related risks.
  • Oversee solution acceptance activities, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and cutover validation.
  • Develop and maintain QA/Test Strategies and Product Test Plans to support project goals.
  • Manage test case development, execution, and defect tracking for enterprise IT, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and business applications.
  • Lead post-go-live Hypercare and warranty testing, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Supervise automated test script creation and execution, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with program managers, security teams, and business stakeholders to maintain quality standards.
  • Enhance QA methodologies, incorporating Agile, DevOps, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, supporting documentation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on project quality assurance, cybersecurity compliance, and IT best practices.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners to ensure seamless integration of third-party solutions.
  • Lead a team of QA analysts, engineers, and subject matter experts, providing mentorship and performance oversight.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in quality management, software testing, and QA leadership within IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall frameworks.
  • Expertise in IT security and infrastructure testing.
  • Proven experience in test case management, defect tracking, and test automation.
  • Experience with large-scale system integrations, including HRIS, payroll, ERP, and financial reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, quality auditing, and compliance validation.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Quality Assurance certifications (ISTQB, Six Sigma, or equivalent) preferred.

Nice-to-Haves

 

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, or NIST.
  • Previous experience in public sector or transportation-related projects.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
