About the Opportunity:
Are you passionate about using procurement as a lever for positive social and environmental impact? In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing social and sustainable procurement initiatives, ensuring responsible sourcing practices are embedded across procurement activities.
You’ll work closely with sourcing, vendors, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support initiatives related to social value, sustainability, supplier diversity, and ethical supply chains. Your Responsibilities
- You’ll use subject matter expertise to support social and sustainable procurement objectives across procurement activities
- You’ll provide reporting and analytics on social and sustainable procurement metrics, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and presenting findings to stakeholders
- You’ll support the sourcing team by integrating relevant social and sustainable criteria into bid documents and evaluation guidance
- You’ll support activities related to Fighting Forced and Child Labour in Supply Chains reporting, including tracking actions and progress
- You’ll maintain and update the diverse suppliers database, ensuring accuracy and ongoing relevance
- You’ll recommend updates to the Sustainable Procurement Toolkit, as well as related tools, processes, and standard operating procedures
- You’ll support Indigenous procurement events by collaborating with internal teams and external partners
- You’ll support relationships with internal and external groups, including memberships and councils, coordinating meetings and tracking follow-up actions
- You’ll conduct vendor outreach as required, including drafting communications related to social and sustainable goals, tracking scorecards, and coordinating meetings
Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement
- Experience supporting social and sustainable procurement initiatives
- Degree or professional designation in a relevant field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop insights
- Effective presentation and communication skills, with confidence engaging diverse stakeholder groups
