Job Description

We are supporting our client, an established organization in the public benefit sector, in hiring an Accounting Analyst to join their Grants team. This role focuses on fund analysis, reporting, and process improvements that strengthen donor impact and operational efficiency. This is an initial 5 month contract, is hybrid in Toronto, and is part-time (3 days/week).

 

What You Will Do

  • Support senior analysts and management in reviewing and managing restricted funds
  • Analyze fund restrictions/agreements, and develop recommendations for reallocating balances
  • Assist with approvals, documentation, and follow-up with internal teams and fundraisers
  • Build and update financial models to support decision-making and demonstrate donor impact
  • Track and manage multiple fund projects, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and operational efficiency
  • Work with CRM systems and other platforms to manage and analyze data
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial projections

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in finance, granting, or fundraising within nonprofit, healthcare, or public sector organizations
  • Analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong project management/coordination and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and CRM systems
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow up with diligence
  • Experience handling sensitive financial or donor information with discretion
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements and implement efficiencies
