Job Description
Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Mississauga
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client in the Transportation industry. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payments to carriers and drivers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial transactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify driver paperwork to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Respond to inquiries regarding driver pay via phone or email.
- Accurately enter invoices and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Audit and reconcile invoices for payment according to established procedures.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies by collaborating with the Freight Audit team.
- Review and reconcile aging statements provided by carriers.
- Provide required documentation and assist with inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the team.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team environment.
- Strong focus on meeting goals and achieving results.
- Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry is an asset.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, ideally within the trucking or logistics industry.
- Experience in Truckmate will be an asset
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
