Job Description
We are hiring an IT Director for our client in Winnipeg, MB. This role provides strategic leadership in IT service delivery and business relationship management. The IT Director will be responsible for aligning IT capabilities with business objectives, optimizing service delivery, and driving IT modernization efforts. The successful candidate will oversee IT operations, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure that IT initiatives align with organizational goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and align IT capabilities with business objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor, translating business needs into technology solutions.
- Define and manage an IT project portfolio, ensuring visibility into delivery timelines and outcomes.
- Support key IT risk mitigation initiatives, modernization efforts, and emerging technology adoption.
- Lead IT service delivery functions, ensuring high-quality service and operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices to improve IT maturity, optimize service models, and enhance stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee IT application support and ensure day-to-day operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, financial controls, and applicable regulations.
- Coach and mentor internal IT staff to improve performance and career development.
- Foster a business-oriented culture driven by continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support change management and organizational transition efforts related to IT modernization.
- Manage IT budgets, including forecasting and expenditure tracking.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated success in senior IT leadership roles (Director level or higher), with a strong background in strategic decision-making and operational oversight.
- Deep understanding of business relationship management, IT service operations, and software/application development.
- Proven ability to drive complex IT initiatives, streamline legacy system modernization, and mitigate technology-related risks.
- Experienced in establishing and tracking key IT performance indicators to measure and improve service delivery effectiveness.
- Strong ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to shifting demands, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environments
