Web Usability Consultant

We are working with a Federal Government client seeking a Web Usability Consultant for a 1-year contract + four 1-year extension options. 

Our client is looking to enhance the usability and effectiveness of their web presence by conducting moderated usability testing. The consultant will evaluate how well users complete key online tasks, identify usability and accessibility issues, and provide expert recommendations for improvement.

• The Contractor must conduct four (4) usability tests per year
  • attend a meeting to confirm the approach, target audience, task scenarios to be tested, starting webpage for each scenario, recruitment of participants and timeline for the testing
  • develop the testing materials, including the participant instructions, invitation emails, recording participant’s screen and audio consent forms, finalized task scenarios, and facilitator’s guide;
  • recruit participants for the tests from the target audience agreed on at the initial meeting
  • facilitate the moderated usability testing with the participants remotely;
  • provide a PowerPoint presentation which will include results, usability or accessibility issues, and recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience planning, facilitating, and implementing at least five (5) moderated web usability task testing projects in the last five (5) years for public facing websites.
• Experience facilitating at least five (5)* moderated web usability task testing projects in English and at least five (5)* moderated web usability task testing projects in French in the last (5) years. The English and French projects can be the same if they were both English and French participants
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the last five (5) years analyzing usability testing results and making recommendations on how to improve usability on public facing websites.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the last five (5) years creating reports and presentations that included the results of usability testing and the recommendations on how to improve usability based on the results of the testing.
