Job Description
Our non-profit and regulatory client is seeking a to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with aligning emergency, security, and operations plans with regulators, supporting agencies, and both internal and external stakeholders.
This is an on-site position, location in Ottawa, ON.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development, training, testing, and evaluation of emergency and disaster response procedures.
- Facilitate and assist designing realistic scenarios to assess skills and competencies.
- Plan, prepare, and execute emergency management and security exercises, including table-top exercises, drills, and full-scale simulations.
- Coordinate and develop the Emergency Management Program Plan, policies, procedures, and emergency contact lists.
- Assist in executing programs and Business Continuity Plans during emergencies.
- Perform quality assurance to address procedural gaps and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Research, recommend, and manage resources to optimize emergency response and business continuity.
- Maintain training and inventory records, including courseware and supplies.
- Draft reports, recommend policies, and participate in special projects and committees.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in emergency management or a related field, with 2+ years of professional experience, or 5+ years of operational emergency preparedness experience.
- Bilingual in English and conversational French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of adult training methods, emergency management practices, and applicable regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
- Valid Class G driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and ability to obtain required certifications.
